Christmas Movie Recomendation

If you’re looking for a Christmas comedy movie that is a little different from the traditional fare, we highly recommend the 1994, little-known film “Trapped in Paradise” starring Nicholas Cage, Jon Lovitz and Dana Carvey as the bumbling wannabe bank robbers Firpo brothers.  "Trapped in Paradise" is one of the favorites in my collection of Christmas movies.

 Summary

Though tempted by crime, Bill Firpo (Nicholas Cage) has managed to stay on the right road, unlike his jailbird brothers, compulsive liar Dave (Jon Lovitz) and kleptomaniac Alvin (Dana Carvey).  After prison-overcrowding leads to an early parole for Dave and Alvin, they get Bill to take them to Paradise, PA., where on Christmas Eve; the three brothers pull off the easiest bank robbery imaginable. Leaving the literally nice-little-town of Paradise though, is not as easy as they imagined.

"Trapped in Paradise"is a real "sleeper" in that one would never expect such a plot could produce such a funny movie--this is a credit to the Cage, Lovitz and Carney and the supporting cast.
