Obama: Iraq War Over, Troops to Leave by Year's End

President Obama announced Friday, October 19, 2011, that American troops will leave Iraq by the end of the year as planned, and that the "long war in Iraq" will come to an end.  The following video was published online on November 12, 2012 by Heritage Foundation.

"Our troops in Iraq will definitely be home for the holidays," he said.  Add that to the rest of the lies this failure has spewed  out in the past five years, including the 2008 campaign.

Major Ben Richards can't speak for every veteran. He does, however, have a moving story to tell about his soldiers. This excerpt from the forthcoming film “Veteran Nation,” produced by Coldwater Media, reminds us of the honor and sacrifice of those who serve.  The American soldiers you see in this video are not really in Iraq--or are they?

 

Does any reasonable person really believe Iraq and its corrupt government leaders are going to live happily ever after when we leave?  I consider this a rehearsal for what will happen in Afghanistan when we leave.  My generation has already seen this movie before.  It was called “Vietnamization.”   Americans killed: 58,220.  What a waste.  Just like Iraq and Afghanistan.

This Day in History: Lincoln Delivers Gettysburg Address

On November 19, 1863, at the dedication of a military cemetery at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, during the American Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln delivers one of the most memorable speeches in American history.   In just 272 words, Lincoln brilliantly and movingly reminded a war-weary public why the Union had to fight, and win, the Civil War.

Hoak Farm is a quaint, family farm with chickens, cows, pigs and other typical farm animals. But every year, unusually fast running wild turkeys visit the farm. We sent our documentary crew over to spend the day with the Hoak family and their farmhand, Austin, to see if we could get a glimpse of these fast turkeys in action.

Krauthammer on the Petraeus-Benghazi Connection

Gen. David Petraeus will testify before the House and Senate Intelligence Committees (now there’s an oxymoron) on the Libya embassy attack this morning, despite the ongoing FBI investigation into an extramarital affair that led to his resignation as director of the CIA.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta who we believe should also testify before these congressional committees just happens to be out of the country—how convenient for Obama (this guy should really buy a lottery ticket).

 S.E. Cupp reduces Bill Maher’s Panel to obscenities Over Obama’s Foreign Policy.  How did it come to this?

Cupp brought up what many libertarians consider to be the “elephant in the room” about Barack Obama’s foreign policy, which is that it’s about the same as George W. Bush’s. The simple suggestion induced a firestorm of rage from the "tolerent left." with Daily Beast columnist Andrew Sullivan practically spitting in Cupp’s face as he jabbed a finger at her, and Democrat strategist James Carville reacting with open disgust. Neither of the two, however, was able to point to a persuasive difference in terms of principle between the two presidents.
