Video of the Day: Sen. Diane Feinstein in '95: “If I Could Ban Every Single Gun, I Would”

oh, my goodness, the good lady from California must have forgotten her oath of office:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms and states:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Seems pretty straightforward yo us.  Maybe the lady from California should bone-up on her understanding of the U.S. Constitution.  “… if I Could Ban Every Single Gun, I would...”

Bob Costas Explains “ Gun Culture” Comments

Sportscaster Bob Costas, whom I respect and admire as a sports authority, gets into fiery debate with Bill O'Reilly over gun control.

Costas deserves a lot of credit for appearing on FNC’s O’Reilly Factor to explain and defend his now infamous  halftime comments concerning gun control during last Sunday’s Sunday Night Football broadcast.

Video of the Day: Dr. Suzanna Gratia Hupp explains meaning of 2nd Amendment

Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed...."

Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution, 1787.

On October 16, 1991, George Jo Hennard drove his 1987 Ford Ranger pickup truck through the front window of a Luby's Cafeteria at 1705 East Central Texas Expressway in Killeen, yelled "This is what Bell County has done to me!", and then opened fire on the restaurant's patrons and staff with a Glock 17 pistol and later a Ruger P89. About 80 people were in the restaurant at the time. He stalked, shot, and killed 23 people and wounded another 20 before committing suicide. During the shooting, he approached Suzanna Gratia Hupp and her parents. Hupp had actually brought a handgun to the Luby's Cafeteria that day, but had left it in her vehicle due to the laws in force at the time, forbidding citizens from carrying firearms. According to her later testimony in favor of Missouri's HB-1720 bill [1] and in general, after she realized that her firearm was not in her purse, but "a hundred feet away in [her] car", her father charged at Hennard in an attempt to subdue him, only to be gunned down; a short time later, her mother was also shot and killed. (Hupp later expressed regret for abiding by the law in question by leaving her firearm in her car, rather than keeping it on her person. One patron, Tommy Vaughn, threw himself through a plate-glass window to allow others to escape. Hennard allowed a mother and her four-year-old child to leave. He reloaded several times and still had ammunition remaining when he committed suicide by shooting himself in the head after being cornered and wounded by police.

Chipping Away at Our Second Amendment Rights

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

—Second Amendment of the United States Constitution

We the People need to remember that the second amendment was not created for hunting nor was it created for shooting sports. It was created so that in the case of an out of control government that the people could stop a runaway train of anti-constitution politicians. We're not saying that is where we are as a nation, but we must understand the genesis of the Second Amendment from the view of the founders.  uns are legal because the Founding Fathers saw what an out of control government looked like and used guns to stop it.

Don’t Let Tom Barrett Threaten your Second Amendment Rights

Gov. Scott Walker has earned the NRA-PVF endorsement for his unwavering pro-gun record throughout his political career,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF. “His commitment to preserving our Second Amendment rights and hunting heritage makes Scott Walker the clear choice for Wisconsin gun owners.”

Walker strongly supports the right-to-carry in Wisconsin and has vowed to sign a “shall issue” bill into law.  He supported an amendment to the Wisconsin state constitution that would guarantee the individual right to keep and bear arms and efforts to ensure uniformity in state gun laws and prevent a patchwork of confusing local ordinances and regulations across the state. Walker also voted for a state constitutional amendment to protect the right to hunt and fish. Because of his consistent support for individual gun ownership rights, Scott Walker has earned an “A” rating from the NRA-PVF.

By contrast, Walker's opponent, Tom Barrett, has earned an “F” rating from the NRA-PVF for his long history of anti-gun activism and his lengthy anti-gun record as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Barrett has worked closely with anti-gun New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg as a member of the anti-gun front group “Mayors Against Illegal Guns.”  He opposes right-to-carry in Wisconsin and supports gun bans and state gun registration. Barrett also supports legislation that would regulate gun shows out of business.

The Battle of Athens (Tennessee)

A Case Study in Grassroots Restoration of the Rule of Law

By Mark Alexander, The Patriot Post, Thursday, May 3, 2012.

As you will see Alexander’s essay is appropriate and timely with Memorial Day approaching.

"The advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation ... forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple government of any form can admit of."

—James Madison, principle author of the U.S. Constitution and fourth President of the United States (1788).

As a direct descendent of Tennessee Patriots who were veterans of every major conflict in defense of American Liberty from the American Revolution forward, I stand in awe of my home state's distinguished list of Patriot sons and daughters. From 19th-century notables like Andrew Jackson, Davy Crockett, Sam Houston, Nathan Bedford Forrest and Sam Davis, to a long list of 20th-century Patriots headed by Alvin York, warriors from the "Volunteer State" have distinguished themselves in battle with honor and courage. Even our state's nickname was earned in recognition of the valiant service of volunteer soldiers during the War of 1812, most notably during the Battle of New Orleans.

There was a group of lesser-known Tennessee Patriots, however, whose efforts to defend Liberty at home in 1946 were no less noble. This group of World War II veterans took up arms to restore Rule of Law in the quaint east Tennessee town of Athens (McMinn County), between Chattanooga and Knoxville. That fight became known as the Battle of Athens.  Read complete essay…

Bank of America Tells Gun Company: Find Another Bank

Accurate shooter.com reported on April 19 that apparently Bank of America is no longer willing to provide banking services to McMillan Group Int’l, LLC (McMillan), and a leading maker of gunstocks and an important supplier of stocks, rifles, and other hardware to our U.S. Armed Forces. Apparently it is not good enough that McMillan builds products used by our troops to safeguard our freedoms.  Why haven’t we read or heard about this from the so-called mainstream media?  Ask yourself; since Bank of America (BofA) received $142.2 billion in bailout money from the American people via the Obama Administration, was BofA under any political pressure from the White House to begin an attempt to put McMillan Group out of business?

Accurate shooter.com continues:

Here’s what went down. In the course of an “account analysis”, a Senior VP of Bank of America (BofA) confirmed that BofA wished to cease doing business with McMillan because the Arizona-based company now builds rifles, not just stocks and accessories. The details of the fall-out between BofA and McMillan were outlined April 19 in a post by Kelly McMillan on McMillan’s Facebook page.

Here is the Text of McMillan’s Announcement Regarding Bank of America:

McMillan Fiberglass Stocks, McMillan Firearms Manufacturing, McMillan Group International has been collectively banking with Bank of America for 12 years. Today Mr. Ray F., Senior Vice President, Market Manager, Business Banking, Global Commercial Banking came to my office. He scheduled the meeting as an “account analysis” meeting in order to evaluate the two lines of credit we have with them. He spent 5 minutes talking about how McMillan has changed in the last 5 years and have become more of a firearms manufacturer than a supplier of accessories.

At this point I interrupted him and asked “Can I possibly save you some time so that you don’t waste your breath? What you are going to tell me is that because we are in the firearms manufacturing business you no longer want my business.”

“That is correct” he says.

I replied “That is okay, we will move our accounts as soon as possible. We can find a 2nd Amendment friendly bank that will be glad to have our business. You won’t mind if I tell the NRA, SCI and everyone one I know that BofA is not firearms industry friendly?”

“You have to do what you must” he said.

“So you are telling me this is a politically-motivated decision, is that right?”

Mr. F. (Last name of Bank of America VP redacted at request of McMillan) confirmed that it was. At which point I told him that the meeting was over and there was nothing left for him to say.

I think it is import[ant] for all Americans who believe in and support our 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms should know when a business does not support these rights. What you do with that knowledge is up to you. When I don’t agree with a business’ political position I cannot in good conscience support them. We will soon no longer be accepting Bank of America credit cards as payment for our products.

BofA obviously discards and has no respect for the United States Constitution, especially the the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights and is colluding with this Socialist persident and his corrupt regime in a first step to seriously weaken our Contitutionally guaranteed rights.

Amendment II

A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, and shall  not be infringed.

Gun owners with Bank of America credit cards or bank accounts should seriously consider whether they wish to continue doing business with this bank.

Second Amendment Rights Do Not End at the Front Door of City Hall or the Library

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

U.S. Constitution: Second Amendment

Mayor Tom Taylor excused himself from the Common Council Meeting on Tuesday, October 18, leaving some Franklin citizens to speculate whether the self-proclaimed Republican mayor was trying to avoid making public comments or having to break a tie vote on agenda item G1. Ordinance to amend the Municipal Code as it pertains to the carrying of concealed weapons within the City and certain City buildings.

At approximately the 19:00 time-mark in the meeting’s audio recording, Franklin Police Chief Richard Oliva presents a verbal report and recommendation to the common council on the subject matter pertaining to agenda item G1.In the ensuing debate you’ll hear Franklin Aldermen all over the map and not very well versed on the subject of Wisconsin’s concealed carry law.   This issue has nothing to do with hunting or hunter safety.

Second Amendment Gun rights have dogged Mayor Taylor in the past, and we have discovered that in a July 14, 2009, letter to the then-leaders of the United States Congress, Mayor Taylor joined approximately 400 other U.S. mayors and members of New York Mayor Bloomberg’s group: Mayors Against Illegal Guns Mayors, a coalition that has long believed that the issue of concealed carry regulation is one best left to cities and states, and strong opposition to Congressional bills like the Thune Concealed Carry Amendment.

The Common Council chose to hold this matter over for its Tuesday, November 1 meeting, the same date Wisconsin’s concealed carry law becomes effective.
