“When you’re president, as opposed to head of a private-equity firm, then your job is not simply to maximize profits,” Mr. Obama said at a press conference at the conclusion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization summit in Chicago. Doing Fine?

The pace of job growth has slowed down dramatically in recent months. The economy added 80,000 jobs last month according to a report from the Labor Department.    But even that fell short of expectations of 90,000 and was not enough to change the unemployment rate from 8.2%. By comparison, the economy added 275,000 in the first month of the year. The jobs gain for May, however, was also revised up to 77,000 from an initially reported 69,000.  Read more>>
