Wisconsin Receives "No Child Left Behind" Waiver

FoxNews reports that The U.S. Department of Education (DOE) has announced that Washington and Wisconsin have won their bid to be relieved of some requirements of the failure known as "No Child Left Behind" Law.  The Obama Administration permitted this in exchange for state-developed plans to prepare all students for college and career, focus aid on the neediest students, and support effective teaching and leadership.  Will this open the door for states to take greater control of education versus the one size fits all approach?  The DOE law has been due for congressional reauthorization since 2007.  Read more>>

If you have any questions pertaining to how this waiver might affect the Franklin School District we suggest you contact Franklin Schools Superintendent, Dr. Steve Patz at 414-529-8230 or a member of the Franklin School Board.

Witnesses to History SCOTHUS Decides fate of ObamaCare Tomorrow

Tomorrow we will all be witnesses to history when the United States Supreme Court delivers its opinion on the Constitutionality of  what has been come to be known as “ObamaCare.”

In a piece this morning entitled The Liberal Naysayers vs. The Federalist Papers J.T. Young at The American Spectator wrote the following:

Tomorrow, the Supreme Court will issue one of the most important decisions in its history. It will decide if the Constitution, as it currently exists and was originally intended, is still superior to the actions of the two other branches of the federal government.

Throughout America's history, there has been no doubt that it is. This week, and especially from our most liberal quarters, this historical foundation will be disregarded -- and in the most extreme outbursts, denied outright. Those protests will only grow louder if the Supreme Court rules, as it should, and overturns the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare).

It is therefore worthwhile to keep in mind the opinions of three who helped write, defend, and finally pass the Constitution. James Madison, John Jay, and Alexander Hamilton, collectively authoring The Federalist Papers, offer responses to today's liberals that are, if anything, no less important now than when they originally wrote.

Liberals have already attempted to marginalize the Constitution -- thereby diminishing its role relative to the government -- effectively aiming to decide the case in the court of public opinion before it was ever heard in the Supreme Court. They again will claim that the Constitution cannot keep pace with the exigencies of our modern life. They will say that the federal government is more responsive and knows best.

In response, we should call to mind the words of Madison, writing in Federalist Paper #62: "It may be affirmed, on the best grounds, that no small share of the present embarrassments of America is to be charged on the blunders of our governments; and that these have proceeded from the heads rather than the hearts of most of the authors of them. What indeed are all the repealing, explaining, and amending laws, which fill and disgrace our voluminous codes, but so many monuments of deficient wisdom…?"

The Constitution and the Court remain our last fail-safes against the federal government's mistakes.

Liberals have also sought to deny the role of the Supreme Court in this case. They have said, and the Administration has echoed, that the Supreme Court has no role in the PPACA because it is a duly-passed action of the Congress.

Dear Mr. President you’ve lost Jon Stewart and That's a BFD!

We would have embedded the Stewart video in this story, however when we tried to get the code we received this response: Embedding disabled by request.

Gee that’s weird...

So, we'll have to settle for a link to Stewart's rant on Obama.

Obama: Green with Failure After Failure...

Is President Misleading Americans on Oil?

President Obama's Distain for Fossil Fuels is Irrational and Dangerous to National Security

One can certainly call the president a lot of things , but   straight-shooter isn’t one of them—here's why.

Excerpted from The U.S.' Untapped Oil Bounty(The Kiplinger Letter)

“... Untapped reserves are estimated at about 2.3 trillion barrels, nearly three times more than the reserves held by Organization of Petroleum Exporting Counties (OPEC) and sufficient to meet 300 years of demand-at today's levels-for auto, aircraft, heating and industrial fuel, without importing a single barrel of oil.

We believe we have given our readers enough evidence to at least persuade you to do some additional research on this subject to draw your own conclusion.

A Book Review: “THE AMATEUR” Barack Obama in the White House

Don’t look for Oprah on the Obama’s 2012 Christmas card.   For that matter, don’t look for Oprah on the campaign trail for the president in 2012, either.

According to the recently released book “THE AMATEUR, Barack Obama in the White House,” Michelle Obama and Oprah are engaged in a subtle “Mean Girls” style battle of wills, with the first lady even criticizing Oprah’s “girth.”

The New York Post, has released excerpts of the book, explaing:

When [Oprah] phoned, [Obama] dropped everything and took her call. They huddled over strategy. Of all of Obama’s unofficial White House advisers, Oprah had unparalleled access, input, influence, and power.

But according to the book's author, Oparah’s “prestige” within the White house inter-circle was short-lived.   Soon after Obama won the election, “It soon became apparent that something had gone wrong between Oprah and the new administration — or, more precisely, between Oprah and Michelle Obama.”

Come to think of it, we haven’t seen Lil' Steve Wonder stumping for the president in 2012, either.  Maybe he’s still smarting from this 2008 Los Angeles appearance with “My Michelle.”

Romney Bain Capital Record Targeted By Obama Campaign

President Obama continues to stoke the flames of class warfare.

Huff Post has reported that President Barack Obama's reelection campaign on Monday morning opened a new front in its election faceoff with presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney, releasing documentary-style videos and a full website portraying Romney as a job-destroying corporate takeover artist.  Read the full story...

Of course, the Obama campaign left out a few FACTS.

FACT: Bain Capital LLC shut down in 2001. Romney left Bain in 1999, long before the plant closing, to run the XIX Olympic Winter Games in February 2002 in Salt Lake City.

FACT: A political power-player serving as a director of Bain at the time of the steel company's bankruptcy and layoffs--Jonathan Lavine. Lavine joined Bain in 1993. He is currently a Managing Director, and since its inception, managing partner and the Chief Investment Officer of Sankaty Advisors.

Blaming Romney for decisions made two years after he left the company is deceitful at best, but blaming predecessors is what Obama does better than anything else--it his trademark tactic.  Lavine joined Bain Capital in 1993.

Lavine is also a major bundler for President Obama, raising between $100-200k for his reelection.

SUGGESTION: Maybe the president should use some of Lavine's donations to help the steelworkers featured in his ad.

Speaking of "Victory Laps"

Before Conservatives and Republicans get too"outraged” over the president’s so-called victory lap on the first anniversary of SEAL Team 6 killing Osama bin Laden, and Obama’s secret visit to Afghanistan the other day.  Let’s all try to keep this in perspective.

Of course this visit had political overtones--Obama is a politician.  This is what politicians do.  Besides,  visiting troops in a war zone is what the Commander-in-Chief should do as often as possible.  It's called boosting troop moral.  We have a strong suspicion based on the faces of most of the looks on the soldiers' faces,  that the majority of our troops really appreciated the president’s visit, well, maybe not so much for the soldier with the president's elbow and armpit in his face.

The Global Threat of the Muslim Brotherhood

“…I've come here to Cairo to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect, and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles -- principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings…Now part of this conviction is rooted in my own experience. I'm a Christian, but my father came from a Kenyan family that includes generations of Muslims.  As a boy, I spent several years in Indonesia and heard the call of the azaan at the break of dawn and at the fall of dusk.  As a young man, I worked in Chicago communities where many found dignity and peace in their Muslim faith.”

—Remarks by President Obama on “A NEW BEGINNING”, Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt, June 4, 2009

During the so-called “Arab Spring” many Americans first heard about the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) during the Obama Administration-supported overthrow of the Egyptian government, which created an opportunity for the MB, the most powerful political force in Egypt to "get its nose under the government tent during the power vacuum created by the ousting of the Mubarak regime.  This doesn't look like there is going to be a "fairy tale progressive-style ending on this one.

After some cursory research on the MB, we can’t help but wonder whether this president and those in his administration are simply stupid or naive?  This may very well may go down in history as one of the biggest foriegn policy blunders of this century, but time will tell.

We’ll let you sort that out for yourselves after viewing this stunning speech by Andrew C. McCarthy of the Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship.

We STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you explore the "RELATED MEDIA" following the video.

Bank of America Tells Gun Company: Find Another Bank

Accurate shooter.com reported on April 19 that apparently Bank of America is no longer willing to provide banking services to McMillan Group Int’l, LLC (McMillan), and a leading maker of gunstocks and an important supplier of stocks, rifles, and other hardware to our U.S. Armed Forces. Apparently it is not good enough that McMillan builds products used by our troops to safeguard our freedoms.  Why haven’t we read or heard about this from the so-called mainstream media?  Ask yourself; since Bank of America (BofA) received $142.2 billion in bailout money from the American people via the Obama Administration, was BofA under any political pressure from the White House to begin an attempt to put McMillan Group out of business?

Accurate shooter.com continues:

Here’s what went down. In the course of an “account analysis”, a Senior VP of Bank of America (BofA) confirmed that BofA wished to cease doing business with McMillan because the Arizona-based company now builds rifles, not just stocks and accessories. The details of the fall-out between BofA and McMillan were outlined April 19 in a post by Kelly McMillan on McMillan’s Facebook page.

Here is the Text of McMillan’s Announcement Regarding Bank of America:

McMillan Fiberglass Stocks, McMillan Firearms Manufacturing, McMillan Group International has been collectively banking with Bank of America for 12 years. Today Mr. Ray F., Senior Vice President, Market Manager, Business Banking, Global Commercial Banking came to my office. He scheduled the meeting as an “account analysis” meeting in order to evaluate the two lines of credit we have with them. He spent 5 minutes talking about how McMillan has changed in the last 5 years and have become more of a firearms manufacturer than a supplier of accessories.

At this point I interrupted him and asked “Can I possibly save you some time so that you don’t waste your breath? What you are going to tell me is that because we are in the firearms manufacturing business you no longer want my business.”

“That is correct” he says.

I replied “That is okay, we will move our accounts as soon as possible. We can find a 2nd Amendment friendly bank that will be glad to have our business. You won’t mind if I tell the NRA, SCI and everyone one I know that BofA is not firearms industry friendly?”

“You have to do what you must” he said.

“So you are telling me this is a politically-motivated decision, is that right?”

Mr. F. (Last name of Bank of America VP redacted at request of McMillan) confirmed that it was. At which point I told him that the meeting was over and there was nothing left for him to say.

I think it is import[ant] for all Americans who believe in and support our 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms should know when a business does not support these rights. What you do with that knowledge is up to you. When I don’t agree with a business’ political position I cannot in good conscience support them. We will soon no longer be accepting Bank of America credit cards as payment for our products.

BofA obviously discards and has no respect for the United States Constitution, especially the the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights and is colluding with this Socialist persident and his corrupt regime in a first step to seriously weaken our Contitutionally guaranteed rights.

Amendment II

A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, and shall  not be infringed.

Gun owners with Bank of America credit cards or bank accounts should seriously consider whether they wish to continue doing business with this bank.

Heritage Foundation Warns of impending Tax Hikes

"Have any of you seen Bo lately?"

While Americans and the rest of the world are transfixed on a dozen U. S. Secret Service agents caught, literally, with their pants down in Cartagena, Columbia and while federal General Services Administration (GSA) employees are globetrotting on the taxpayer’s “dime,” to the tune of at least about one million dollars (that we know of), there are bigger and much more important stories that aren’t getting much, if any, attention from the so-called mainstream media.

It has nothing to do with Catholics and birth control, “Affordable Healthcare (ObamaCare),” and pesky little discovery that as a Boy Obama ate dog meat.  Well, at least he didn’t strap the family dog to the roof of the family station wagon during a 12-hour trip like Romney did 25 years ago.  Yet the story I’m referring to will impact every taxpayer in America at in 2013—a couple of months after the general election—some $500 billion (That's half a trillion dollars) in tax breaks expire all at once effectively hitting American households with an average tax increase of $3,800—if Congress doesn't act, which is, as we all know, what they do best.

RUN BO, RUN!

State of the Union 2012: Obama unveils ‘Buffett Rule’

While the president and  Democrats in Congress lust for the so-called ‘Buffett Rule,’ a tax reform named for billionaire Warren Buffett which would create a top marginal tax rate of 30 percent for every dollar earned after the first million earned in a year. While the existing top marginal tax rate is supposed to be 35% there are several loopholes the ‘Buffet Rule’ “aims to end.

However, there are approximately one billion things that our president and Buffett are neglecting to tell the American people.

Acording to a Newsmax Moneynews story entitled: Report: Buffett's Berkshire Owes $1 Billion In Back Taxes.

Billionaire investor Warren Buffett triggered a major debate over taxes recently when he wrote in The New York Times that he should be paying more to the federal government. He called on Washington lawmakers to up tax rates on the rich.

But it turns out that Buffett’s own company, Berkshire Hathaway, has had every opportunity to pay more taxes over the last decade. Instead, it’s been mired in a protracted legal battle with the Internal Revenue Service over a bill that one analyst estimates may total $1 billion.

Yes, that’s right: while Warren Buffett complains that the rich aren’t paying their fair share his own company has been fighting tooth and nail to avoid paying a larger share.

The story of Berkshire's years-long tax battle, which is generally known in business circles, took on new life this week when a group called Americans for Limited Government (ALG) reported that, according to Berkshire Hathaway’s own annual report, the company is embroiled in an ongoing standoff over its tax bills.

That report, in turn, was cited in an editorial in The New York Post.

“Obvious question: If Buffett really thinks he and his 'mega-rich friends' should pay higher taxes, why doesn’t his firm fork over what it already owes under current rates?” the Post opined.

“Likely answer: Buffett cares more about shilling for President Obama -- who’s practically made socking “millionaires and billionaires” his re-election theme song -- than about kicking in more himself.”  Click to read the full text of this article...
