Citizens for Responsible Government Fails in Effort to Recall Democrat Sen. Jauch

Orville Seymour, Citizens for Responsible Government Network Field Operations Director.WEAU.com recently reported:

A committee working to recall a northern Wisconsin senator has suspended its efforts.

Shirl LaBarre of Hayward registered a committee to recall Sen. Bob Jauch, a Poplar Democrat, to punish him for opposing a bill that would have jumpstarted an iron mine south of Ashland.

The committee has until May 18 to collect the 15,720 signatures it would need to force Jauch into an election. Citizens for Responsible Government Network, which works to elect conservative candidates, has been helping the committee…

[CRG] issued a statement on the committee's behalf Friday saying the recall has been suspended. CRG Network Field Operations Director Orville Seymer (sic) says people are focused on recalls involving Republican Gov. Scott Walker and volunteers are spread thin.  Read full story

EDITORIAL: Franklin School Board Deserves a "F" From Taxpayers and Students

Please watch the following reminder...

A look at our follow-up file revealed that we are approaching one year since the Franklin School Board initially discussed its employee Health Insurance bidding process, another tax saving tool provided to local governments through Act 10 by Governor Scott Walker and Conservatives in the Wisconsin State Legislature.   The topic appeared on the school board’s July 20, 2012 agenda (See Agenda item 9.a.) .  FIJ attended this meeting and prior to this meeting published this story on July 19, 2012.  Here is a summary of the provision of Act 10.

The Baraboo school board saved an estimated $660,000 per year by dumping WEA Trust insurance and purchasing its employee health insurance from Dean Health Plan.

The Baraboo school board  is now free to put this $660,000 savings into the classroom, putting its students first, which most school districts claim is their priority: “It’s for the students…”

Enough of the rhetoric.  Quit the stalling.   It’s time to walk-the-talk and show Franklin parents, taxpayers and students you are serious about saving taxpayer dollars and actually willing to put Franklin kids first.  NOT WEAC or WEAC TRUST.

Call or email School Board president Janet Evans or other school board members to express your views on this issue and ask the Board to please place the employee Health Insurancetopic on the Board’s next meeting agenda.

It is time to take a stand against this garbage from outsiders brought in by the unions and demand that our elected representatives on the Franklin School Board do their job.

More of Obama’s Big Government Injecting itself Where it Does Not Belong

“The reason [The Obama Administration] [is] bemoaning JPMorgan Chase is because they’re a target. They are a target of this president and his big government allies who would like to use this loss of their own money as a means to regulate them even further; which means banks will do less, will be less risky, will earn less and will charge their customers more.”

Six-year-Old Boy Walks to His U.S. Marine Father for the First Time

Some readers may have already seen this story on the evening news, but for those of you who have not; go grab a box of Kleenex before you watch this video from WelcomHomeBlog.  Here is how Michael’s Mother described the father—son homecoming you’re about to watch.

"When my husband left on his deployment, our 6-year-old son could not walk on his own. He has cerebral palsy. Doctors originally said that he would never walk or do much of anything. While daddy was away, he learned to walk. For his homecoming, we set it up for Michael to walk to his daddy for the first time ever! We kept the fact that he could walk a secret the whole time his dad was gone!”

The Coconspirator-in-Chief

“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”

Abraham Lincoln

With the exception of the recent recall primary election, Alderman Skowronski losing his log-time Planning Commission seat and the recent reorganization of the Franklin School Board, news in the City and state are at a lull, which affords FIJ an opportunity to concentrate on the education aspect of our Mission Statement.

Vindication?

Have we reached the point where Glenn Beck’s detractors will have to knuckle under and seriously reconsider their feelings about this 21st century crusader for truth?

Beginning Monday, May14 FIJ will give our readers the opportunity to consider whether Beck is an irrelevant alarmist or a compationate patriot with a greater understanding and deeper concern than our leaders do, about what is truly happening right now in the world we live in.

On Monday FIJ will present part one of Beck’s three-part documentary "Rumors of War.”

This video tees-up Beck's “Rumors of War” documentary perfectly and shines a spotlight on the Obama administration's reckless involvement with sworn enemies of the United States of America.  Please watch.

EDITORIAL: Wisconsin’s Future Begins Today

The nation’s eyes will likely be focused on recall challenges today to Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, Lt. Governor, Rebecca Kleefisch, and four Republican state senators in what amounts to their first test at the ballot box.

Today is Primary Election Day in Wisconsin and voters will have a choice to make for the future of the state.

Will they choose a government of the people by the people or a government of corrupt, union lapdogs?  That is the choice facing Wisconsin voters.  Today's vote results will tell us which direction the people of Wisconsin want to take the State.

Four Democrat gubernatorial candidates are competing to challenge Walker: Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett; former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk; Sen. Kathleen Vinehout of Alma; and Secretary of State Doug LaFollette. Republican activist Gladys Huber is running as a fake candidate on the Democrat ballot.  Then there’ Arthur Kohl-Riggs, a Capitol protester who is running as a "Lincoln Republican" and will square off against Walker on the Republican line.

Tuesday’ election will determine Governor Walker's opponent in the June 5 election.

If Walker loses, he would be only the third U.S. governor removed from office in a recall election.

Philadelphia’s “War Heroes” of 1944

How many of you know what happened in Philadelphia in the summer of 1944?

We would like to share with our readers how members of what is today’s AFL-CIO Union “distinguished” themselves as unpatriotic, racists during WWII.  It may help shape your view of public sector unions which is at the heart of Wisconsin's recall primary on Tuesday and the recall election in June.

During World War II Philadelphia was the number two war production city in the United States, that is until it was crippled by the worst U.S. transportation strike during the war.

In the first week of August 1944, employees of the Philadelphia Transit Company (PTC) effectively shut down the city's transit system, defying both the federal government and their own union. A wildcat strike, which lasted for six days, halted much of the city's war production, was in response to aPTC decision to promote eight African Americans to the position of motormen (trolley car driver).   In the decade leading to what would become known as the “hate strike,” African Americans had demanded that the PTC hire them as bus and trolley drivers, motormen and conductors, and station cashiers.  However, in August 1944, the Company refused to hire any new African American employees and all of the company's 537 current black employees were restricted to menial and backbreaking jobs in its maintenance divisions and primarily worked as porters and messengers and were not permitted to interact with the public. Many transit companies around the country employed similar discriminatory hiring practices. The PTC system was owned in-part by the city and was one of the largest transit systems in the country, carrying 2,500,000 passengers daily.

Due to this war-time strike, 900,000 war production workers who poduced everything from hub caps to vital radar equipment were forced to hitch hike to work, others trudged miles in Philadelphia's sweltering August heat—or just stayed home. Army & Navy officials estimated that at least 500,000 man-hours of war production were lost due to this illegal strike. In addition, Philadelphia's taverns and liquor stores were shut down by police and department stores lost thousands of dollars in trade.

The genesis of this historic unerasible black mark on the AFL-CIO began in March, 1944, when Philadelphia’s transportation workers elected the Transport Workers Union (TWU), Local 234, an affiliate of the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO), as its official bargaining agent. The TWU promised to make racial equality the highest priority in contract negotiations.

The former bargaining agent, Philadelphia Rapid Transit Employees Union (PRTEU) had close ties to the company and supported its racist hiring practices. The PRTEU contract expired in April of 1944, and as contract talks with the TWU dragged on for months, the PTC received pressure to integrate its workforce from both the federal Fair Employment Practice Committee (FEPC) and the TWU. The PTC ignored this pressure, providing the excuse that it wanted to await a new TWU contract.

Maybe worst of all, just two months earlier (June 6, 1944—D-Day) allied forces had landed on the beaches of Normandy, France on their way to liberating Europe—leading to the end of WWII and the Third Reich’s fascist reign of terror.
